Noah's Ark
While it tells a fictitious sounding story of all the world becoming flooded, sounding like a fable, it is also very possibly, in a sense, a true story. Occurring within a single river valley (the entire known world to an earlier culture), it may well be the story of the flood following the breaking of the Mediterranean Sea to form the Black Sea.
Clearly, the story implies that all life is the sacred creation of God and must be protected in times of trouble.
Perhaps, now more than ever, it is for our time, that the story of Noah and his Ark ring most true!
